Plagiarism Policy

Pluralia: Journal of Religion and Society does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. All submitted manuscripts are expected to be original works and must properly acknowledge the ideas, data, words, and findings of others.

Similarity Check

All manuscripts submitted to the journal will be checked using Turnitin (plagiarism detection software). The maximum acceptable similarity index is normally 20%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used academic terms. However, the editorial team will not rely only on the percentage of similarity. The nature, distribution, and source of similarity will also be examined.

Forms of Plagiarism

• Copying text from another source without proper citation
• Paraphrasing another author’s work without acknowledgement
• Using data, figures, tables, or images without permission or citation
• Submitting previously published work as new work
• Self-plagiarism or redundant publication without proper disclosure

Editorial Actions

Manuscripts with minor similarity issues may be returned to the authors for revision. Manuscripts with serious plagiarism or unethical duplication may be rejected immediately. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the severity of the case.
